Mandy + Jason, Engagement in Central Park

Within the first 2 minutes of meeting with Jason and Mandy, Jason asks me “Are you in a relationship?” “Uh, no… why? Do you know someone eligible?”

I was initially really shocked by the question. But it seems only natural that others try to understand where I get my enthusiasm for couples in love. And it is so thrilling to work with such open, genuine people who are interested in knowing the woman behind the camera.

And for the record, I cannot wait to find the beautiful love and partnership that all of my amazing clients experience day to day.

Stacy-Marie + Sean, Romantic City Hall & Central Park Ceremony

The first time I met Stacy-Marie I could not get over how beautiful she is. She and Sean are both from Trinidad, which is where Sean is currently living. They wanted to keep their ceremony effortless, but at the same time experience the romance of a wedding. In the morning, they were officially married at the Queens’ City Clerk’s Office. And immediately after, they exchanged their own vows in front of the lake at Central Park. This one has earned a spot in my most romantic weddings list.

Lindsay + Brice, Engagement in the Military

Love finds you when you least expect it. Lindsay & Brice met in Pismo Beach, CA. Brice, originally from Missouri, was working there at the time and Lindsay happened to be visiting.Â She lived in Phoenix, AZ. After not being satisfied with long distance, he moved to be with her. And just a couple months ago, they were engaged.

Lindsay contacted me because at the last minute Brice was given an unexpected 4 day pass, which they planned to spend together in NYC. Brice is in the Military Police in the United States Army. A couple weeks ago, he deployed to Iraq, beginning a one year tour of duty.

I am honored that they chose me to capture their love at this time in their relationship. My gratitude is enormous for the men and women whose hearts lead them to serve. Thank you Brice for your courage and passion, and to your family for their strength.

Our session started in the heart of NYC, Times Square, and we walked to Central Park. Although, by the time we reached the park, it started to rain. It was a light rain but consistent, so we still got wet, and decided to end at the Columbus Circle Mall. Lindsay trooped it out and threw her hair into a ponytail. I love a girl who rolls with the punches.

Jenny + Andrew, a Central Park Engagement

I am sure someone out there is ready to report me to the general counsel of the world wide web for neglecting my blog for so long.Â My excuse is that I have been working on getting a new website and blog up for so long that I neglected to post. But on the positive side I am learning to make executive decisions!

This is just the beginning of a whole batch of new posts. To start with all my updates, I am introducing Jenny & Andrew’s engagement session at Central Park. Jenny’s green sweater is gorgeous against the backdrop of the the park. Many couples ask me about what to wear for their engagement session. Well, it’s up to you whether you would like to be dressy or casual, but either way make sure you dress like yourself. I really think Jenny & Andrew got it right. Oh and that’s Saddie, their Collie.

Kyra & David, a Central Park Destination Wedding

this spring and early summer was a very busy time for me. so many changes. so many things to be grateful for. i didn’t get around to blogging nearly as much as i should have. in fact,Â i made not one entry at all in june. when things get busy its hard to sit down and reflect on those happenings. but reflection is just what i need to stay on top of my game.

anyways, here are images from kyra and david’s central park destination wedding. i shot this wedding with jennifer davis. they flew in for a week from scotland to be married in the big apple. new york is home for me. but oh boy, how i can’t wait to travelÂ for a destination wedding.

here’s a list of a few places iÂ just might kill forÂ a chance to shoot a wedding:

italy, spain, prague, moscow, tokyo, thailand, india, alaska, the carribbean, morrocco, egypt, ghana, greece

okay fine, that list is more than a few. and if i sat still long enough, i could definitely come up with more. what can i say, i want to see the world. this is me visualizing that goal.

Miranda Cosgrove for Twist Magazine

i’m a national published photographer! national is the key word in that statement, since i’ve been published in a brooklyn newspaper before.

thanks to my amazing, vivacious friend kateri, a few months ago, when the season changed the leaves to beautiful fall colors, i was blessed with the opportunity to do a photo shoot with miranda cosgrove for twist magazine. miranda is the star of nick’s “icarly.” she is one of the most poised 16 year-olds i have ever encountered, and handles her hectic schedule, responsibilities, and fame with grace and maturity. it makes me think back to once upon a time ago when i was 16. i can’t say that i had nearly as much confidence.

good luck, miranda. with your integrity, and the support you have from your mother to your publicists, you remain grounded in a merciless hollywood. i’m sure your career will take you very far.
