These days you can find him pursing his love of acting and modeling. And in general, leaving a lasting impression with his infectious smile.

Snow Day! Harlem USA

Today is a snow day! How cool is that? In LA, we might have gotten an El Nino day. But never a snow day. Living on the east really makes me appreciate what each season has to offer. I have to admit when my client in VA mentioned the snow they got last week, I was a wee bit jealous. Okay honestly, more than a wee bit. I LOVE SNOW. Love it! It makes me feel like I am seeing the world through a new set of eyes, like I am a child all over again learning what this world is about.

Miles and I just came in from a romp in the park. I am sitting here working, studying, watching the snow fall and eating my first PB&J sandwich in the last decade. Wondering, since when did these become so tasty?! Could it be the honey wheat bread and green tea addition?

And look what we found in Marcus Garvey Park, a snowman! What?! How cool are the kids in Harlem USA for this?!

Kyra & David, a Central Park Destination Wedding

this spring and early summer was a very busy time for me. so many changes. so many things to be grateful for. i didn’t get around to blogging nearly as much as i should have. in fact,Â i made not one entry at all in june. when things get busy its hard to sit down and reflect on those happenings. but reflection is just what i need to stay on top of my game.

anyways, here are images from kyra and david’s central park destination wedding. i shot this wedding with jennifer davis. they flew in for a week from scotland to be married in the big apple. new york is home for me. but oh boy, how i can’t wait to travelÂ for a destination wedding.

here’s a list of a few places iÂ just might kill forÂ a chance to shoot a wedding:

italy, spain, prague, moscow, tokyo, thailand, india, alaska, the carribbean, morrocco, egypt, ghana, greece

okay fine, that list is more than a few. and if i sat still long enough, i could definitely come up with more. what can i say, i want to see the world. this is me visualizing that goal.

Kevin + Lin, a Grand Central Proposal

kevin contacted me with a diamond ring burning a hole in his pocket about a month before the date he had chosen to propose. he wanted to make the proposal special by capturing it in images. consistent june rain killedÂ his planÂ of shakespeare’s garden at central park just an hour before showtime. i hauled it to the whispering walls at grand central and waited to capture the look on lin’s face. priceless!

John + Mary Engaged, Brooklyn Bridge

i heart allergy season for one reason only, and it has nothing to do with my puffy eyes. it’s a sign that summer is arriving. with the weather reaching 85+ in new york city, i can tell that this summer will be nothing short of amazing. and i can barely contain my excitement. you may see it peek once my alavert kicks in, and you will definitely see it when i talk about how happy i am with the outcome of john and mary’s engagement session.

a couple weeks ago when the first heat of summer reached new york city, i went out to the brooklyn bridge with john and mary to shoot their engagement session. they are definitely an affectionate couple, and i cannot thank you both enough for being so open and trusting with me.

i absolutely love these images! thanks, john and mary.

merry december nyc

and everyone else in the world.

i absolutely love december. i will even go as far to say that it’s my favorite month of the year. december represents winter, family, celebration, and rebirth. this month brings in so many smells (xmas tree pine), sights (string lights, red&green decorations), and sounds (xmas/holiday music) that i love but we are only allowed to experience once the entire year. then it’s all packed away into storage for another 11 months.

i can’t wait to get the tree at home in ca this year. i always request that we get a tree flocked in white. my family is over it but to me its the closest we can get in so cal to having a white xmas.

many of my friends also already understand another reason why i love december. but, worldwide web, ill explain it again for you. you see, my birthday is the day after xmas. and for me, the celebration never ended after the 25th. there was always anticipation for what was to come on the 26th also. i remember as a kid that santa used to leave an extra gift or two for me. boy, did that make me feel special. no other kid that i knew got a bday gift from santa. even though, long ago, i stopped believing in santa, that feeling of being special still remains with me.

and the next week is new years. giving us all a chance to rethink and revive our approach to life.

so you see worldwide web, december really is wonderful.

i never understood everyone’s fascination with the xmas tree that’s erected every year in rockefeller center. it’s just a giant tree that’s poorly decorated. maybe because it’s real and giant, but mostly, i think because it’s been a tradition in the city for many many years.

along with the rockefeller tree photo, below is an image of scrooge who greeted the tree viewers. and the tree of lights, on the side of the macys building at 34th street. which i love. and also a cute trio of lil ladies from the macy’s xmas display window.

when i’m not looking, this is what my camera finds. i don’t know what it was about these two that made me take a picture of them in the first place. i think the reason is that i could watch their interaction without being noticed. i was on the manhattan bound platform and they were headed toward coney island. look here, they gave me a great photo! thanks you two, here’s to hoping you can never get enough of each other and give other photographers great shots.
